WORLD FAMOUS MADHAVPUR FAIR - MADHAVPUR GHED DIST. PORBANDAR GUJARAT (INDIA)


The village of Madhavpur is about 60 km from Porbandar city and about 75 km from Junagadh. The surrounding diocese is known as the ghed region. This land is especially famous as Lord Krishna's marriage. The main occupation of the people here is agriculture, livestock, fishing, Bella mine and transport. Madhavpur ghed is a fertile region of the population due to the intensity of the population.

In Madhavpur, Chaitra Sud 9 ie on the day of Ramnavami, a five-day Madhavpur fair is filled with Bhakti-Kirtan in the center. Which is completed on the day of Chaitra Sud 13. The fair is said to have started around the thirteenth century.

The story of the fair in Madhavpur ghed  is linked to the marriage of Lord Shri Krishna and Rukmini. He was then married here in Madhavpur. Since then, in his memory, every year, the Indian scriptures are celebrated with wedding rituals. People from all castes from all over the country join the wedding, so that people from different fields come to this fair, suits, languages, customs and skills of each region are seen. This wedding celebrates the wedding with all the people.

Celebration of his marriage to Lord Krishna, who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, lasts five days in Madhavpur Ghed. The fair is organized and all arrangements are made by the Shri Madhavaraji Temple Trust. In which the servants and congregations of the surrounding village are entrusted with the responsibilities of different departments by making different committees. In addition, the responsibilities related to the sisters are entrusted to the women of the tunal. At the fair, people of castes like Fajar Farkas, Various types of Chakra, Rabari, Ghedia Koli, Mer etc. are dressed in their traditional costumes and organize different kinds of cultural programs.

Shri Gopal Lalji is the child of Lord Krishna. This folklore of Madhavpur begins in the morning on the day of Chaitra Sud 9 ie Ramnavami. So a large number of people are uprooted. As time goes by, the color of the fair is frozen. On the other hand, the preparation of God's blow in the temple begins. The evening of Ramnavami begins this flower. Thousands of people join in and speak the rituals of Kirtan and ballads. The flower is left from the temple of Sri Madhavaraji and brought to five Pandavas on the east bank of the mythical Brahmakund on the north side of the east. With such happiness, people sing kirtan and weddings by playing drums, saranai, nagara as well as different types of vibrations. The chariot of the bridegroom is run from the village to the head of the village and there is some time stop at the head. Then the Madhvan of the human body reaches along with the chariot of the bridegroom. Where the bridegroom's life is welcomed by the magnificent prince.

After the welcome of the bridegroom's life, Dulharaja Lord Krishna is brought to the Vivah Mandap. Where a grand ritual is performed for the bridegroom. To take advantage of this ritual, people are spoken by people, who are given this benefit to those who make more money. After the completion of this ritual, the wedding begins with the traditional scripture ritual according to Indian culture. Meanwhile, the guests of the bridegroom ie the guests are separated, and the guests of the party take their place in the opposite side. During the wedding, both parties simultaneously sang fires (wedding).

As the marriage goes ahead, the rituals of serving Kansar, the rituals of Mangalfara are going forward. The way the rituals for the marriage are in the Hindu community are fully implemented. Prasad is also arranged for all such auspicious occasion. Thus, the marriage is completed between the kirtan and the wedding songs.
